In a world that rushes, we slow the press. Ink & Ribbon was founded on the belief that beauty deserves time — that a poem, a page, or a gesture of grace can still move the world if made with care. We create limited works for limitless feeling.

Founded by poet and artist G. K. Allum, Ink & Ribbon Press began as a quiet dream: to publish art and poetry with the devotion and craftsmanship they deserve. What started as a personal imprint has grown into a nonprofit literary press devoted to preserving the handmade tradition of publishing and nurturing poetic voices of lasting significance.

Each book we release is a study in detail — soft paper, deliberate typography, hand-finished design. We treat publishing as ritual: an act of reverence for language, material, and meaning.

Our mission is to advance poetry and literary art as a public good — to create and share works that cultivate empathy, beauty, and reflection. We publish not for mass consumption, but for those who pause for poetry, for intimacy, for art that endures.

Welcome to Ink & Ribbon

Meet the Founder

G. K. Allum founded Ink & Ribbon Press as an act of devotion to words, to beauty, and to the tactile art of bookmaking.

A Pushcart Prize–nominated poet and award-winning artist, his own books began as limited self-published works, created out of necessity and love.

What began as a personal press has grown into a quiet collective for those who believe that art, like love, is worth doing beautifully.

“I wanted to create a space where literature could breathe again, where a poem could be held, touched, and remembered.
